Having had enough Baguio and the multitude of people there we didn't want to tarry and in the morning after breakfast we headed for the (high)way and ended up going some pony-trail along the mountaintops. We hadn't fueled up so was on the lookout for a gas station as the needle started pointing more south. Finally we got to a station that at the same time joined a wider road heading for Bontoc, a major city in the Hill Province before Banaue.

The weather was cool to begin with but not that bad, we were both wearing long sleeved shirts, long pants and doing ok. By the time we reached the (formerly) highest point at he Philippines highways it was time to dig into our packs and dig out the woolies and watertight gear, it was getting chilly with the display on the bike saying 16 degrees.
