Eye of the Wind in the archipelago

Having had the brigantine Eye of the Wind visiting in Mariehamn, both Captains, Moritz and Juha met  up and exchanged some ideas of sites worthwhile for a visit and as per below you can see the various beautiful spots they tied up at. 

On 3rd Aug Ålands Sjöfart reported the arrival of Eye of the Wind

There are no pictures from Turku and apparently the news outlets missed the fact that a 100+ year old operational brigantine had visited their city. Not to mention that Turku in their own opinion serves as a permanent official anchor port for the Baltic Sea, hosting the massive free family maritime festival and fleet visits every four years. The next tall ship races are scheduled for July 2028.

Halkolaituri, Helsinki - EoW & Valborg

Capt Juha summarised the resident ships at Halkolaituri as per their recent activity:

Now it seems that most of them are out cruising. Ingeborg has been sailing very little. Jan Mayen is a pub these days. Kathrina only does day tours. Valborg has been sailing a little less since captain Ville Jaakola passed away recently. Svanhild and Astrid are active archipelago cruisers, Ingrid and Freya have been taking it easy in port.

The 'play-offs' continue. It has been seen this year that Valborg, Astrid and Svanhild are in great shape and the rest are in decline.

Then Capt Jan also manage a visit to Capt Moritz in Helsinki as they did a few day tours as per the track. He generally asked how he enjoyed the archipelago and Moritz said the clients were very happy and had greatly enjoyed the nature and calm. One thing that probably added to the calmness was that the school semester had just started so the archipelago had emptied itself of all the child families.
