I did a big favor to my friend and as a thank you he commissioned a watch mod of a Seiko SRPL89 by Mr. Chris Alexander, the Dial Artist. It was quite a pleasant surprise, I was not expecting it all, it felt like Christmas. Needless to say I wore it straight away and have had it on for some days now whilst at work onboard.

Original Seiko SRPL89
Original Captain Haddock
For those who does not know, Captain Haddock is one of the Tintin cartoon characters that appear in the stories by Hergé, a Belgian cartoonist, Georges Remi (1907-1983). Captain Haddock is the rough and tough merchant marine captain that accompanies the investigative reporter Tintin on his adventures. They met each other on the m/s Karaboudjan where Tintin had been kidnapped by Haddock's first mate Allan at the time. He was investigating opium smuggling in the Red Sea in the album titled "Tintin and the Crab with the Golden Claws". I greatly enjoyed reading these albums as a kid from my fathers bookshelf and I still enjoy reading them from time to time, e.g. when it is a rainy day.
