Ducati ride

Muntinlupa gas station

We were asked if we'd be interested to join in this fun run with the Philippines Ducati club, the plan was get together at the SLEX Muntinlupa Shell station and then drive to Cavite for lunch and they were open to other brands joining them. Said and done we registered and agreed to ride together in the morning with CJ and Cyle to the starting point, was going to be an early start at 0430hrs from Calatagan to get to Muntinlupa on time for the start.

Ducati's at the gas station lined up

We got up really early and dressed up for cold as we were going to pass Tagaytay that was few hundred meters above sealevel and was pretty cool in night time. It was still dark when we drove off to our meeting point just outside Calatagan and we waited a few minutes for CJ, Logan & Cyle to turn up. Then we connected our intercoms off we went.

Us on the SLEX...

Our riding buddies CJ & Cyle

The chaps went off like bats out of hell on the nearly empty roads and I tried as best to follow but fell behind as I didn't feel too comfortable with so high speeds. We passed Lian and headed towards Tagaytay and started climbing, then at daybreak we reached the Kape Mo-to cafe to regroup and a refreshment.

Meeting also other famous personages

CJ gave last instructions of how to navigate the highway to the meeting point and again off we went, us a bit ahead but it didn't take long before the boys gunned past us. We soon joined the SLEX and got going towards Manila. As we got off and joined the highway it got busy with traffic it was still running pretty fast. Soon enough we reached the jungle of exits and entrances at Muntinlupa and after some turns we managed to get to the south going direction and the SLEX Shell station where there was already many big Ducati's parked. We were just on time a bit before 0700hrs.

Ducati's a dozen

Chenok went and let the organisers know we had arrived and we sat down for a small snack and coffee until it was time to get going towards Cavite. The organiser gave everyone a speech about the event and reminded about safe speed etc on the roads and then everyone set off around 0745hrs. We jumped on our Honda rebel and also joined the convoy on the highway. I'm not sure how many bikes there were but it was many, in the hundreds. Quite an impressive sight to see.

More Ducati's

We arrived the Cafe Agapita in good order, the ride was only about 30min or so, and parked outside on the road as we didn't have the right brand. Once inside breakfast was served, coffee, rice and tapa. It was a bit dry so I poured coffee on the rice and had it the typical Filipino style. As we had finished there was not much to do and we told CJ & Co that we will be on our way home to Calatagan.

At the coffee shop in Cavite

Off we went and stopped in Tagaytay at Bag of Beans to buy some Barako coffee beans and some pasalubong for Chenoks sister. We arrived back early afternoon so we had time to other things later in the day. Nice morning though.
