Having gotten off work I was on the train 3rd Aug towards Rome to see a couple of old friends.
Trenitalia
Got myself on a train from Taggia to Genoa and there I changed towards Bologna to break up the trip a bit. I was feeling pretty lazy so the evening that I should've walked about Bologna was spent loitering in my room and I only ventured out for dinner. Next morning I was up early and set off for a quick tour of the city centre Japanese style on foot. I only had a few hours before the train was leaving for Rome so there was no time to tarry.

Next day we set out walking from the northern suburb towards the touristic centre and ended up in Vatican. My feet were still soft from weeks onboard so of course I was getting blisters. Had to stop at a pharmacy to get some heavy duty tape and bandages to tape up my feet so I could walk on.

Following day we walked through a park, it was very picturesque but the heat was up and it was scorching, almost felt like being in Africa, from there we went via ended up in Trastevere for lunch. Luckily took bus back to the suburbs...

I stayed the night in a noisy and creaky hotel and next morning it was time to take the ironhorse for Taggia. It was nice to arrive up in the mountain where I went for a cooling dip in the river after all the scorching heat in Rome.
